So, I recently turned thirty. And I’m still in school. Hopefully not for long, but there’s still the small matter of a dissertation to write. One good thing about my perennial student status is that I happen to really enjoy back-to-school shopping. New notebooks, ballpoint pens that haven’t been lost or run out of ink yet, lightweight sweaters with elbow patches — I love it all! Sadly, my perennial student status also means a woefully wee budget, but a girl can still dream! Here’s a few things that I have my eye on… some that are situated within my means and some that are most definitely not:
1. Terribly expensive and no longer available sweater from British dream-shop Zadig et Voltaire. I included this only because I’ve seen some pretty great DIYs around the cybersphere. Here’s one! (For kids, but adaptable.)
2. Hello, lovers. Nothing like a fabulous pair of modified oxfords to kick off the school year.
3. How maaaah-jor is this metallic lunch bag? This might convince me to start bringing my lunch to campus with me. And bonus, it’s another DIY! Suddenly things are looking up.
4. Two adorable totes, for shlepping your library books around. Here’s the first, here’s the second. (My best friend gave me a variation of no. 2 for my birthday, and I lovesss it.)
5. Colour always keeps things cheerful! And they’re reasonably priced. Hurrah — I’ll take one of each, please.
6. WANT SO MUCH. Wah. Here’s another one that I also like quite a bit, and won’t entirely break the bank.
Oh, and for those of you out there who have school-attending kids… this is a super cute idea.
